Activities
Monday 27
Para-sport and adaptive climbing with Entre-Temps Escalade
Balise 25 has long been involved in para-sport by organizing each year activities and orienteering events adapted to the different types of disabilities encountered. The club also includes a young athlete with a disability. In France, precision orienteering is still very marginal, and it is currently almost impossible to find a para-athlete able to represent this discipline based on competitive results.
However, as we want to take advantage of O'France 2026 to highlight para-sport, it seemed appropriate to invite Lucine PAUPE, an athlete who practices adaptive climbing with the Entre Temps Escalade club in Besançon. A multiple French Adapted Sport champion, with gold titles in 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026, Lucine is an accomplished athlete and has already had the opportunity to practice orienteering during the Handi'Forts Raid in Besançon.
At O'France 2026, on Monday, July 27, 2026, she will have the opportunity to inaugurate the event by starting, before the first official start, on a course accompanied by a runner from BALISE 25. We hope many of you will be there to applaud her at the finish line. After the race, she will be able to share her experience as a para-athlete at her stand and present her activity.
On Saturday, August 1, she will also be present at the prize-giving ceremony among the officials who will hand out the awards.
Thanks to Lucine, we hope a fresh perspective will be brought to para-sport and to "living together", which is at the heart of the relationship between everyone, whatever our differences.
Adaptive climbing in partnership with the Besançon-based association Entre-Temps Escalade — an inclusive club welcoming climbers of all abilities, from age 4 to veterans.
